Accommodation
We envisage that the fantastic sport and beautiful surroundings that the Fortland Fishery has to offer combined with the other angling and tourist attractions of the surrounding area will make the Fortland Fishery an attractive location in which to base an angling holiday in the west of Ireland. To this end we are offering accommodation both within the picturesque and historic Fortland Estate, and close by in Easkey village.

The Ice House, situated in a breathtaking setting right on the bank of the river in the middle of the wooded estate was painstakingly renovated for the 2000 season and is now available by the week for four guests inclusive of angling. Despite its secluded setting the Ice House is only a short stroll from the pubs & shops of Easkey village.

The Fortland Gate lodge was completely renovated for the 2004 angling season. This beautiful lodge is situated at the entrance to the Fortland Estate overlooking the fantastic Laundry Pool and only a minutes walk from the shops and pubs of Easkey village. The Gate Lodge is luxuriously appointed and provides three large en-suite bedrooms, a large living area overlooking the river, a large kitchen and dining area opening onto a sheltered garden terrace, and a fishing equipment store. The Gate Lodge is available from June 2004 by the week for six guests inclusive of angling.

In Easkey village we are offering two self-catering apartments; one twin bed and one single bed, both comfortably equipped and only a short stroll from the fishery. The apartments are available by the week inclusive of angling.

For guests staying in any of our accommodation a catering & housekeeping service is available; all daily meals are available or individual meals to order. In addition a laundry service, the freezing or smoking of fish, & the supply of bait, custom tied flies, or fishing tackle can be arranged.

For non-angling family members or friends the immediate area has many attractions including beautiful uncrowded beaches, rugged costal & mountain scenery, historic cultural, archaeological & artistic attractions, a championship golf course, famous therapeutic seaweed baths, a leisure centre, & shopping in both Sligo & Ballina.

Easkey is easily accessible to the visiting angler, Knock airport is 28 miles, Sligo airport 19 miles, the nearest ferry terminals are Dun Laoghaire & Belfast both of which are 3 1/2 hours drive, Larne is 4 hours drive.
